Inclusion

At Woodham Ley Primary School we recognise that each child has unique qualities and abilities. Children may have learning; physical, emotional/behavioural or social needs which may require special support or provision over the long or short term.

Their needs are identified and assessed according to the National Code of Practice and help is provided in school, or sometimes from outside agencies for those who need it. The school policy on pupils with special educational needs is available to parents from the school office.

All staff at Woodham Ley Primary School are committed to meeting the needs of all children with SEND and the school will make reasonable adjustments to accommodate all children where practical. The ROBUS Academy Trust ensures provision reflects the SEN Code of Practice 2015 and the Disability Discrimination Act 2005

SEN Code of Practice

The Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice provides statutory guidance to all schools on the SEND system for children and young people aged 0 to 25.  This document is followed by all schools in England and can be found here - SEND Code of Practice.

Section 6 in the SEND Code of Practice outlines the important parts that schools need to follow and can be found here - Section 6 of the Code of Practice
